Pat Detmer

Pat writes a monthly column for the Newcastle News. In 2011, she won “Honorable Mention” in the National Society of Newspaper Columnists’ contest for best humor column for papers with circulations under 50,000.

She got some fan mail from a talented cartoonist, Dana Sullivan, who asked if he could provide cartoons for her columns and blogs, and he included a little picture of her in the email. She was thrilled, and wrote back that she loved the idea, but that he needed to be aware – since the picture that accompanies her column was neck-up only – that she had a “meaningful ass,” whereupon he sent the below.
